Cedar Cove Ranch and Resort
This position requires on-site support at Cedar Cove Ranch (Eustace, TX) as hunting operations staff/guide and guest services
Cedar Cove Ranch is located in east Texas in Eustace – just an hour away from Dallas. Our 700+ acre ranch and serene, private 25-acre lake along with luxurious lodging, provides a top-tier experience for sportsmen, families, corporate retreats, and weddings. We are currently low fenced, but implementing high fence Fall 2022.
Need someone who is experienced with hunting to support our guests and provide them with a great, unique experience and newfound knowledge. This position is a hospitality role, with a primary specialization in hunting and sporting activities. Shifts vary as per support needed. Roughly 40-50 hrs a week. Weekend/Holidays work required. We would prefer to have someone who lives onsite, however, this would depend on experience level.
Hospitality and Guest Services Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility includes hospitality management – everything from checking guests in and out, property upkeep, cabin management, supply management, organization, support with catered meals or prep.
- This position is one of the main points of contact for guests, so making a luxury level impression is a must
- Reach out to guests to support sales as needed and to answer questions about operations
- Ease of use of technology (mobile phone apps, internet savvy, etc.)
- Maintenance of items around the homes and cabins, including laundry support for linens/towels when needed
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and grooming of property at all times, and work with the housekeeping staff
Hunting/Activity Responsibilities:
- Be able to coordinate guest activities and guide activities like hunting, fishing, shooting, tubing, speed boat, hiking, and such. Walking long distances (5+ miles at a time may be required for guided hunts)
- Experience guiding whitetail deer, exotic animals (blackbuck, axis, fallow…), thermal hog hunts, and upland bird hunting
- Being able to plant food plots
- Manage feeders and blinds
- Guided Bass Boat Fishing support
- Extensive gun safety knowledge is required and skills to be able to conduct safety briefings for guests
- Ability to guide hunters of all experience levels on Texas hunting laws, CCR regulations, and best practices
- Support other activities such as, shooting range, sporting clays, archery, fishing, UTV rides, night hikes, and be comfortable teaching and guiding activities to children.
Other Ranch Upkeep Responsibilities (as needed):
- Desired (not required) – Perform property maintenance and improvements – including lawn mowing, trimming trees, trails maintenance.
- Desired (not required) – Ability to operate large tractors and implements including box blade, batwing mower, disc harrow, tiller/cedar/cultipacker, etc…
- Basic maintenance/repairs on small equipment – such as – tractors, UTV, boats,…
- Assist general contractor with other construction/remodeling improvements – such as extension of deck, painting, building shooting stalls, blinds, and more.
- Hauling trash on vehicle to dumpster
