Ranch Hand / Caretaker needed at 185-acre Private Horse Ranch in Texas

A 185-acre private horse ranch with light livestock, is seeking a full-time Ranch Hand / Groundskeeper to support daily horse care and overall property maintenance. This is a hands-on position best suited for someone with practical horse handling experience and familiarity with ranch equipment.

Responsibilities include:

Equine Care (Primary Focus)

• Feed and water horses twice daily
• Turn horses in and out of stalls and pastures
• Clean and maintain stalls, feeders, and waterers
• Groom, blanket, and monitor horse health
• Assist with vet and farrier visits
• Exercise or ride horses as appropriate
• Haul horses safely as directed

Groundskeeping & Ranch Maintenance

• Maintain pastures, arenas, barns, and ranch facilities
• Mow, weed-eat, and manage brush/invasive plants
• Build and repair fences and gates
• Drag and water arenas; monitor footing
• Operate and maintain tractors, UTVs, mowers, and skid steers
• Assist with general repairs (fencing, irrigation, water systems, etc.)

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience handling horses (daily care, turnout, grooming)
• Experience operating ranch or farm equipment
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather
• Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Preferred:

• Riding or training experience
• Experience hauling horse trailers
• Trade or maintenance skills
