Henderson Saddle Association
The Henderson Saddle Association is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Individual for our 26-acre equestrian community in Las Vegas, Nevada.
**Previous experience with good working references required**
This is mainly outdoor work requiring physical strength and stamina. This individual must be physically fit to meet the daily demands of the job.
Must have the ability and vitality to work outside in summer Nevada weather, as well as in rainy or cold conditions.
Must have an excellent work ethic, be self-motivated, honest, and able to complete projects with limited or no direct supervision
On-site Housing is provided with this position, 3 br/2ba manufactured home.
Position includes duties as listed, but not limited to:
- Maintain operational and maintenance records.
- Carry caretaker phone
- Purchasing supplies as needed for repairs and bathroom facilities.
- Maintenance and repair of main facility buildings, fences, shades and arenas.
- Operation, maintenance, and repair of ranch equipment to include skid steer, tractors and water truck.
- Daily cleanup of manure staging area.
- Watering and /or dragging arenas twice daily.
- Competence with “handy-man skills” – plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry is a plus
- Maintaining guest corrals
- Daily rounds of property every evening.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be Dependable, complete tasks before moving on to the next task, treat equipment, persons and animals with respect, and possess common sense.
- Must be physically fit to complete job duties.
- Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license with a good driving record
- Personal vehicles must have current registered and insurance within the state of Nevada.
- Must reside in provided employee housing on HSA property.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics
- Basic knowledge of farm equipment, i.e. tractor, water truck and skid steer.
- Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.
Candidate/candidates must successfully complete:
- Drug test
- Criminal background check
- Work references must be provided and will be checked.
- Provide car registration and insurance paperwork
- Provide a print out of their Nevada drivers record
Compensation and Benefits:
- This is a full-time year-round position. No medical or retirement benefits are currently offered. Bi-annual performance reviews will be conducted; annual performance bonuses are considered but not guaranteed.
