Circle M Ranch
Circle M Ranch is seeking an experienced ranch hand and general caretaker. Must have at least 2 years prior horseback riding experience. Housing will be provided on the ranch which consists of a 1-bedroom unit, bathroom, laundry unit, and kitchen. In addition to being a paid wrangler, the ranch hand will be required to complete daily chores. A ranch vehicle will be available for errands, chores, and some personal use. This position will be from now until mid-September or October.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gathering horses, cleaning horses, hoof care, saddling, etc.
- Feeding horses
- Greeting guests
- Giving safety orientation about the trail ride to guests
- Assisting guests with getting on and off the horses safely
- Being a trail guide for two approximately 1.5 hour trail rides
- Taking saddles off, storing tack, cleaning pads, and keeping an organized barn
- Picking up pallets of feed in town with truck and trailer
- Cleaning stalls
- Feeding cows, pig, sheep, various birds, and small animals
- Use industrial blower every day to clean driveway for clean guest walkway (sometimes pressure wash also)
- Run errands to pick up ranch supplies in town
- Treat abscesses on horse hooves
- Treat general horse injuries: cuts, pink eye, etc.
- General maintenance and chores
Additional Skills That Would Be Helpful:
- Ability to operate backhoe and bulldozer
- Carpentry
- Handyman skills
