We are looking for someone who is well-rounded, hands-on, and takes pride in doing things correctly and efficiently. This position combines horse care, property maintenance, equipment operation, and general farm management.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, recognizes what needs attention, solves problems, and can be trusted to get things done to a high standard without constant supervision.
Job Responsibilities
- Daily feeding, turnout, and general horse care
- Assisting with grooming, tacking, and untacking horses
- Maintaining fences, gates, pastures, and farm facilities
- Operating tractors, mowers, arena drags, and other farm equipment
- Maintaining arenas, mowing, weed eating, and general property upkeep
- Managing hay inventory and coordinating orders and deliveries
- Handling routine repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting around the property
- Keeping the farm clean, organized, safe, and presentable
- Recognizing and addressing maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- Responding to unexpected issues and farm-related emergencies as needed
- Occasional opportunities to assist with colt starting and young horse development for the right candidate
Qualifications & Expectations
Reliability is absolutely essential for this position. We need someone who is dependable, responsible, and understands that caring for horses and maintaining a working farm requires consistency, flexibility, and attention to detail.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Is exceptionally reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Is detail-oriented and takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Works efficiently, stays organized, and manages time well
- Is mechanically inclined, resourceful, and comfortable fixing things
- Can work independently, anticipate needs, and solve problems
- Is professional, personable, and comfortable interacting with high-profile clients
- Is willing to learn, receptive to instruction, and open to feedback
- Has good horsemanship skills and experience handling horses (strongly preferred)
- Is comfortable operating farm equipment or willing and capable of learning
- Understands the importance of safety, consistency, and excellent horse care
- Is flexible and willing to step up when unexpected situations arise
We do not necessarily expect someone to know how to do everything from day one. Good judgment, a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and the right attitude are equally important.

We value our team’s time and recognize the importance of a sustainable work environment, but flexibility and a willingness to take responsibility are essential to this role.
