We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Ranch Hand / Equipment Operator to assist with the maintenance and improvement of privately owned ranch properties located in Hardee and Polk Counties, Florida.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining land and equipment, and has experience operating heavy machinery in agricultural or ranch environments.

The ideal candidate understands that ranch operations are dynamic, requiring flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to step in wherever needed to keep the ranch running efficiently and looking its best.

Primary Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment including:

  • Skid Steers / Bobcats
  • Backhoes
  • Tractors
  • Excavators (experience preferred)
  • Mowers and other field maintenance equipment

Perform field and pasture maintenance, including:

  • Mowing and brush control
  • Clearing fence lines
  • Road and trail maintenance
  • Drainage improvements
  • General land clearing and upkeep

Assist with ranch infrastructure projects, including:

  • Fence repair and installation
  • Gate installation and maintenance
  • Culvert and roadway repairs
  • Property improvements as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
  • Perform general ranch labor and groundskeeping duties

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills preferred
  • Experience in agriculture, ranching, land management, construction, or similar outdoor work environments
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
