New start!
I own a large plot of acreage (200+) in Denton county (just north of Dallas,TX). I’m interested in regenerative farming, and having more options for free range, pasture raised chickens/eggs in North Texas. We currently have beef/bees/honey, and am looking at incorporating chickens/eggs and more (pork?, veggies, goats?).
- Is there a person/family that is interested in farming on our land managing chickens, beef, bees, like a ranch hand?
- Is there a person/family who may want to even live on the land, raise a family in the country, a homestead?
- Is there anyone that can help send me information on where to start with the chickens? This wouldn’t be a backyard chicken coop, but a larger scale mobile chicken coop with chicken/eggs potentially on a commercial level (yes, I realize starting small might be best initially before I go big). I want to offer more nutrient dense protein sources locally.
It feels overwhelming to me to focus on and to get started at this point in my life with demands from family and work, but an idea is worthless unless there is action. We are about to be empty nesters, too. Thus, I’m trying to get a feel for how viable of an idea this is.
