Ranch-Hand Position in the Round Mountain area of Central Texas
We are looking for a full time Ranch/Grounds Maintenance Hand on a private ranch in the Hill Country.
Ranch land totaling 3,400 acres
Recreational and conservation ranch land with no livestock
Interface with the ranch owners and other staff members
Previous Ranch-hand experience preferred
Minimum Education: High School degree
Annual salary commensurate with experience and education
No housing provided
Health Insurance and 401K
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Upkeep of lawns, gardens, and exteriors of several ranch buildings
- Repairing fences, filling, and maintaining deer feeders, feral animal control (pig trapping)
- Maintain several miles of walking trails
- Perform general maintenance duties
- Brush control and tree trimming
- Application of herbicides to manage habitat
Qualifications:
- Must have proof of Covid Vaccination
- Non-smoking
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds
- Must be able to operate and maintain a chainsaw, weed eater, and lawnmower. The ability to operate a tractor and skid steer a plus.
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrate safe practices and always comply with ranch rules
- Maintain employer confidence by keeping information confidential
- Must pass a background check
