Ranch Hand / Groundskeeper needed at Private Horse Ranch in Texas

A private horse ranch with light livestock, is seeking a full-time Ranch Hand / Groundskeeper to support daily animal care and overall property maintenance. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position best suited for an experienced individual who is confident handling horses and operating ranch equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Groundskeeping & Ranch Maintenance

• Mow pastures, weed-eat, and control invasive plants
• Trim trees, clear brush, and maintain clean, presentable grounds
• Build, repair, and paint fences and gates
• Maintain barns, sheds, arenas, and shop areas
• Drag and water riding arenas; monitor footing
• Safely operate and maintain tractors, UTVs, mowers, and skid steer equipment
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and water systems

Animal & Horse Care – DOE /DOQ

• Feed and water horses twice daily
• Turn horses in and out of stalls and pastures
• Clean and maintain stalls, feeders, and waterers
• Groom, bathe, blanket, and monitor horse health
• Exercise or ride horses as appropriate
• Coordinate and assist with veterinary and farrier visits
• Haul horses safely as directed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 year of hands-on horse handling experience (daily care, turnout, grooming, etc.)
• Prior experience operating ranch or farm equipment
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Physically capable of strenuous outdoor labor in all weather conditions
• Able to pass a background check
• Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Preferred:

• Horse riding and/or training experience.
• Experience hauling horses with a trailer.
• Trade skills (fencing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, irrigation)

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay based on experience

• Limited on-site housing may be available for a single employee only (no family housing).
