Ranch hand/hunting guide needed for an exotic breeding and hunting ranch located in the Texas Hill Country.
Job requirements:
Mandatory
- valid drivers license
- no criminal history
- no drug use
- able to lift and carry at least 50 LB repeatedly
- U.S. citizen or current “green card”
- read, write and communicate in English
- good common sense
- self motivated – we have neither the time nor inclination to give constant supervision
- able to walk distances in rough terrain
- honest
- dependable
Preferred
- veteran
- general knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical & welding
- ability to operated backhoe, skid loader, tractor, chainsaw and bulldozer
- some basic mechanical ability
- experience guiding hunts
- shooting experience
General duties for this job are:
- Maintenance – fence checking and repair, road clearing and repair, cedar/brush clearing, basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Feeding animals – actual pour out of the bag feeding as well as filling and maintaining automatic feeders. Keeping count on feed on hand and notifying or placing order when necessary.
- Animal care – observing and reporting
- Guiding hunts
- Assisting in animal capture – either for sale or transfer
- When necessary hauling water
This is ranch work there are no “that’s not my job” in ranch work.

- salary dependent on skills and knowledge
- house all utilities paid including basic satellite TV, landline phone and internet

- cell phone or some reimbursement if you chose to use your own
- Usually access to game meat in freezer
