We are looking for someone to help us out a little bit on our ranch in exchange for rent.
We have an 80 head cow/calf operation and 200 goats on about 400 acres in Blum, near Blanton in Hill County. We live and work out here as well. There is a furnished cabin that we renovated and is ready for someone to move into. We will also provide utilities and internet in exchange for 10-15 hours of work per week.
Like any ranch, some weeks are busier than others and we may need extra help when working cattle, etc. We don’t require experience, just lots of interest in learning how a working ranch is run and managed and the ability and desire to be outside and work at a wide variety of things. As retired educators, we are very willing to spend time teaching and letting someone develop experience in certain aspects of farming or ranching that they may be interested in pursuing.
