We are looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, hard-working, and highly motivated employee to work on a 4th generation family owned and operated cattle ranch in Eastern Washington.
Calving:  (February – April)
•       Daily Feeding
•       Check Heifers (every 4 hours from daylight to dark and once a night under certain weather conditions)
•       Pull calves when needed
•       Graft Calves appropriately
•       Sort calvies and put pairs out to pasture
•       Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, etc. as needed.
•       Snow-plowing
•       Sort feeders and ship
Spring Work: (April-June)
•       Feeding until grass is ready
•       Spraying (noxious weeds in pasture and grass in ditches)
•       Fencing
•       Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, etc. as needed.
•       Branding (April 15th- May 15th)
•       Pasture  Moves (Horse or ATV)
Summer Work/Irrigation: (April-August)
•       All flood irrigation on ditches, head gates, and pipe
•       Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, etc. as needed.
•       Pasture Moves (Horse or ATV)
•       Spraying (noxious weeds in pasture and grass in ditches)
Haying: (June – September)
•       Prepare haying equipment
•       Daily service; repairs if needed
•       Operating Swather, Rake, and Baler
Fall Work: (October – November)
•       Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, etc. as needed.
•       New construction (feed bunks, corrals, water facilities, and roads)
•       Wean and background calves
•       Feed Daily (Calves, Bulls, Horses)
•       Preg check cows, vaccinate, pour, sort, haul cows to winter pastures
•       Hauling Hay
Winter: (December – January)
•       Feed cows (begins December 1st; ends April 15th or as weather and feed dictate
•       Checking all cows, calves, and bulls
•       Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, etc. as needed.
Work Quality:
•       All work is to be neat, clean, and professional
•       Clean up after yourself and return everything back where it belongs
•       Use time wisely
•       Respect for equipment
Riding is not a necessity but is helpful. The employee must be able to maintain and run equipment. This includes a Hesston 3×4 baler, John Deer Tractors, backhoe, grader, Supreme mixer wagon, New Holland Swather, Rake, etc. You must be able to work well with others including the owner.
Hours:
•       Calving Time: 7 days a week
•       Haying: Off and On through summer depending on hay
•       Fall: Monday – Friday
         7am -5pm (1 hour lunch)
         Later Fall – Weekends until noon when calves to feed
•       Winter: Monday – Friday
              7am – 5pm (1 hour lunch)
        Weekends – 8am – Noon (or when feeding is done)
Time Off: (by arrangement)
•       Weekends – (Late Spring – Fall) **unless haying**
•       Two 1 week vacations – (Preferably during the summer or non-busy times of the year)
•       Weekdays (special events or  by arrangement)
Compensation/Benefits:
•       Annual $30,000-$50,000 per year DOE
•       Housing
•       Beef & Vacation after first year
