Cattle & Horse Breeding Operation | Northeast Tennessee
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working, and reliable Full-Time Ranch Hand to join our longstanding, high-quality breeding operation in beautiful Northeast Tennessee. This is a premier opportunity to work closely with top-tier purebred cattle and Standardbred horses.
A private house with all utilities covered is provided on-site as part of the compensation package. This offers an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to live comfortably while learning the industry from the ground up within a well-managed, respected, and long-standing ranch business.
Key Responsibilities
- Livestock Care: Assist with the daily feeding, watering, health monitoring, and general handling of purebred cattle and Standardbred horses.
- Breeding Support: Aid in daily breeding operation tasks, foaling/calving preparation, and neonatal care under supervision.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and clean barns, stalls, fencing, and paddocks to ensure a safe, clean environment for the animals.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors, ATVs/UTVs, and mowing equipment.
- Pasture Management: Assist with rotational grazing, weed control, and fence inspections.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Prior experience handling horses and/or cattle is highly preferred, but a strong willingness to learn from seasoned industry professionals is essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), including lifting up to 50+ lbs regularly.
- Dependability: Punctual, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as part of a close-knit team.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and must be willing to undergo a standard background check.
