Cattle & Horse Breeding Operation | Northeast Tennessee

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working, and reliable Full-Time Ranch Hand to join our longstanding, high-quality breeding operation in beautiful Northeast Tennessee. This is a premier opportunity to work closely with top-tier purebred cattle and Standardbred horses.

A private house with all utilities covered is provided on-site as part of the compensation package. This offers an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to live comfortably while learning the industry from the ground up within a well-managed, respected, and long-standing ranch business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Livestock Care: Assist with the daily feeding, watering, health monitoring, and general handling of purebred cattle and Standardbred horses.
  • Breeding Support: Aid in daily breeding operation tasks, foaling/calving preparation, and neonatal care under supervision.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and clean barns, stalls, fencing, and paddocks to ensure a safe, clean environment for the animals.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors, ATVs/UTVs, and mowing equipment.
  • Pasture Management: Assist with rotational grazing, weed control, and fence inspections.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Prior experience handling horses and/or cattle is highly preferred, but a strong willingness to learn from seasoned industry professionals is essential.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), including lifting up to 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Dependability: Punctual, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as part of a close-knit team.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and must be willing to undergo a standard background check.

What We Offer

  • On-Site Housing: A private house located right on the property.
  • Utilities Included: Water, electricity, and basic utilities are 100% covered by the employer.
  • Stability: Secure, year-round, full-time employment (not seasonal).
  • Mentorship: Unmatched opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a purebred cattle and Standardbred breeding business from an established, quality operation.
  • Competitive Pay: Hourly or salary rate based on experience, heavily supplemented by the housing benefit.

To Apply

If you are ready to commit to a rewarding career in the agricultural and equine industry, please submit your resume and a brief summary of your experience with livestock to our email address listed.

Note: Final candidates will be required to pass a background check prior to official hire and move-in.
