Ranch Hand Wanted – Southwest Missouri
We are looking to hire a dependable, hardworking ranch hand for our operation in Southwest Missouri, located south of Joplin.
We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position, not someone who changes jobs every few months. Applicants must be able to provide references and a stable work history and be willing to commit to working with us for a minimum of one year.
Starting pay: $20/hour
This is a working ranch, and the job will involve a little bit of everything, including:
- Weed eating and general property maintenance
- Building and repairing fence
- Brush hogging
- Gathering, sorting, working, and handling cattle
- Feeding and tending to horses
- Equipment maintenance and repairs
- General ranch and farm work as needed
Some cattle work will be done horseback, but horseback work will not make up the majority of this position. If you are looking for a job where you will spend most of your time horseback, this is NOT the position for you.
If you have your own horses and would like to bring a few, we can provide a place for them.
Applicants need to be prepared to work 7 days a week when the ranch requires it. There will also be slower periods when fewer hours are available. Ranch work is seasonal and the workload will vary depending on what needs to be done.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is dependable and shows up when they say they will
- Has common sense and can work without needing to be supervised every minute
- Takes pride in keeping equipment, barns, and the ranch clean and maintained
- Is willing to go the extra mile instead of doing the bare minimum
- Is clean-cut and professional
- Respects our equipment and property
No smoking inside equipment, tractors, trucks, or barns.
At this time, we do not provide housing, health insurance, or other traditional benefits. Housing may become available in the future, but it is not currently included with the position.
We do provide cash bonuses around holidays and there will be additional perks and opportunities as time goes on for the right person.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, wants steady long-term employment, and understands that ranching sometimes means long days and doing whatever needs to be done.
