Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Ranch Hand/Laborer and become a vital part of maintaining a busy and thriving agricultural operation. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors in a variety of hands-on tasks that keep the ranch running smoothly. Must have prior experience in handyman work, general home repair work to assist in keeping on-site buildings in good repair, also significant ranch duties, including fence repair, irrigation equipment upkeep; tractor/machinery equipment maintenance, . We’re looking for motivated individuals eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, watering, and general care for livestock such as cattle, horses, or other farm animals
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and heavy equipment including tractors, loaders, and irrigation systems to ensure efficient land and crop management
- Perform equipment repairs, welding, and basic maintenance to keep tools and machinery in optimal condition. Also requires lawn maintenace tasks.
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies, feed bags, fencing materials, and other farm-related items safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools and power tools for fencing, building structures, setup and upkeep
- Support irrigation operations by setting up or repairing watering systems to promote healthy crop growth
- Supervise or assist with other team members in various tasks related to farming, horticulture, or animal handling as needed
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in agricultural or ranch settings with the ability to lead by example
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment
- Extensive animal husbandry skills with a focus on animal care and handling techniques
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy machinery, and power tools safely and effectively
- Must be skilled at taking initiative to work through tasks to completion without direct supervision.
- Should have high situational awareness and ability to move through a “punch list” without direct oversight. Welding experience is not required, but a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety standards
- Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, and inventory management
- Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks within a team environment
On-site housing provided; plus health insurance and a certain supply of beef monthly.
This position reports to the on-site Ranch manager and offers an engaging environment with wide open spaces. We prioritize safety, teamwork, and continuous learning — empowering you to develop your expertise. We provide on-site living quarters, ideal for a single person, but can also provide larger living quarters for ideal couple or family.
