Night Sky Ranch is a family-owned ranch looking for a dependable, motivated Ranch Hand to join our team. Core Responsibilities
- Animal Husbandry: Feed, water, and monitor livestock for illness or injury. Muck stalls, clean pens, and manage bedding.
- Maintenance & Construction: Build and repair barbed wire or wooden fences. Maintain and clean ranch buildings, sheds, and barns. Clear brush, control weeds, and maintain irrigation ditches.
- Equipment Operation: Safely drive and operate tractors, trucks, UTVs (side-by-sides), mowers, and skid steers. Perform light maintenance and oil changes on farm machinery.
- General Labor: Load and unload feed, hay, and heavy supplies. Chop firewood, or complete general groundskeeping as dictated by the season.
Typical Schedule & Physical Demands
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Physical Requirements: Constant standing, bending, lifting, and walking. Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs or more unassisted.
- Environment: Exposed to sun, extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and insects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A High School diploma or GED.
- Experience: Prior Military experience along with agricultural, farm labor, or construction experience is preferred. Experience handling horses is a must.
- Skills: Mechanical aptitude, welding, fencing, and tractor driving are highly valued technical skills.
- Requirements: I-9 Verification. A valid driver’s license. Subject to background check and drug testing.
Compensation
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision. 10 days PTO. 4 Sick Days.
