Family-owned ranch located in Anderson County, Texas.
We are seeking a ranch hand to assist with the management and care of a multi-home recreational cattle and wildlife property. This is a full-time year-round position with housing provided if required. We would like to re-establish our organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, and hen house. The ideal candidate would be dependable, hardworking, detail oriented, flexible, self-directed, honest, motivated, and organized.
This position would be responsible for assisting the ranch manager/owner with general ranch infrastructure and maintenance, cattle, and hay. In addition, would be responsible for reestablishing the family organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, and hen house.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Re-establishing and care of organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, and hen house
- Assisting with mowing, weed-eating, brush control, roads, trails, and general ranch grounds and structure maintenance
- Operation and basic maintenance of ranch equipment to include, but not limited to mowers, tractors, vehicles, ATVs
- Assisting with wildlife operation to include but not limited to fence maintenance, feeder management, food plots, and surveys
- Assisting with pond management
- Assisting with 50 head cow/calf cattle operation
- Assisting with hay operation
- Assisting with hospitality
Qualifications to include:
- Prior experience in ranch and wildlife, animal care, gardening, and hospitality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team that includes employees and family
- Strong work ethic and family values
- Love of country, outdoors, animals, and wildlife
- Ability to keep property neat, clean, and organized
- Desire to apply the skills and experience you have and learn new skills
- Must pass background check and drug test
Potential Domestic Option for Married Couple
This position would be responsible but not limited to assisting owners with household administrative tasks, housekeeping, family meal preparation as needed, errands, pet care, and occasional childcare. Same qualifications apply. Must pass background check and drug test.
