The Ranch Hand assists in providing quality care to our herd of horses. This role is responsible for all aspects of maintenance to the facilities, equipment, and care for our animals.
Responsibilities include:
- Feed animals (horses, goats) according to the established feeding schedule provided by management.
- Put on appropriate protective gear (ex: blankets, fly masks) for animals based on the season / weather
- Ensure waterers are clean and water is fresh throughout the day.
- Clean and maintain animal pens and stalls daily, ensuring they are free from waste, debris, and hazardous materials.
- Assist in special facilities maintenance projects (ex: landscaping, fixing gates, building fencing)
- Clean out aisles, drains, gutters, and watering systems.
Job Requirements:
- Love of horses!
- Proficient with power tools, heavy machinery, maintenance equipment
- Previous building and “handyman” experience (preferred)
- Ability to handle and manage horses safely and with confidence. (preferred)
- Physical labor to include lifting in excess of 50 pounds, bending, crouching, kneeling for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for the horses.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Salary:
$18/hr starting with PTO and optional benefits/401k program, increases possible based on performance.
