Corner Post Meats
We are seeking a person to join our team to help with the day to day responsibilities and chores on a grass based livestock rearing and finishing operation. The farm/ranch supplies our small meats business which sells direct to the public and restaurants. Our current 4 person team ranges in age from 25-35. In addition to long days outside, meals are prepared and enjoyed as a team so we spend a lot of time together. The right candidate for the job should be detail orientated, observant of their surroundings and able to coordinate job duties and work well with others. This position is a very demanding but rewarding job with a lot of responsibility, long hours and few days off in the summer. It must also be mentioned that this job entails a large degree of manual labor. An ideal candidate for the job will need to be able to work unsupervised and be accountable for a daily and weekly task list.
This position encompasses the following job responsibilities and chores:
o Daily/Weekly pasture moves of intensively grazed: cattle, pigs, meat chickens, turkeys, layer hens, and sheep.
o Fence building (permanent barbed /electric and temporary electric)
o Recording grazing transect and pasture management data
o Egg Handling
o Since we are also a direct to consumer meats business a candidate must be willing to occasionally assist with many aspects of the supply chain such as:
o The packaging of customer’s meat orders
o Distribution of orders to pick up locations
o Transportation of livestock to the processor
o Transportation of livestock from other producers to the ranch
Our ranch has a large amount of customers visiting the ranch; this position will require a lot of public interaction with on farm pickup of meat orders, tours, educational seminars and farm to table dinners.

• Starting salary of $1,200 a month
• A small, private cabin (bedroom with a queen bed, bathroom and full kitchen) is provided. The cabin is in excellent condition and is 400 sq ft. It has a. ($600 month value)
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner are eaten as a crew so the food is included in the starting salary ($400 month value)
No previous ranch experience is needed for the right candidate who can demonstrate an excellent work ethic and willingness to work in the cold, and muck as well as handle the daily issues that pertain to life and death of livestock.
