Pony Creek Ranch
Looking for a part-time ranch hand for a non-hunting exotic ranch near Paluxy, Texas. Minimum 15 hr/week but increased hours negotiable. Ideally work will take place Monday-Friday although some time on weekends and evenings may be required to fulfill responsibilities to animals and projects. Start date is negotiable. We are looking for a hardworking individual to assist with day-to-day operations, upkeep, and tasks around the ranch.
Hourly wage is competitive and dependent on candidate’s experience.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting Ranch Manager with projects around the ranch
- Maintenance of ranch facilities, roads, lawn areas, and equipment
- Maintaining supplemental feed stations and water sources
- Check and maintain fences, gates, and pens
- Animal observation and management including population surveys of native wildlife and exotics
- Brush and invasive vegetation management
- Predator control practices
Work is mainly general ranch work, but does provide some opportunity for animal interaction/management.
Qualifications
Qualifications include but not limited to:
- Must be able to pass background check
- Valid Driver’s license
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
- Must be able to work without supervision and as a team
- Prior experience with small equipment (tractor, skid-steer, mower, trailers, weed-eater, etc.) is a plus but is not required
- Experience flying drones or interest in drone technology use to observe and survey animal populations is a plus but not required
