We are seeking a ranch hand for our combination wheat and cattle ranch (not a guest or dude ranch) in Montana. Must have some previous experience in grain or livestock production, and must be willing to help out with all aspects of the ranch, whether the work is cattle, grain, or upkeep related.
We are seeking someone with a good attitude who can take direction well, and work alone and unsupervised or with others. Usually we have one to two full time employees and the ranch is fairly low-key. This is not a management position. This is a family farm and we are flexible on hours and time off, but this is not a 9 to 5 job.
Salary is paid once monthly and depends on experience; housing is available with good references. Alcohol, drug and tobacco-free ranch.
If you have your own truck and horse, that is strongly preferred. Should have some knowledge of running and maintaining equipment (generally older equipment), livestock care, grain and/or hay production, and basic farm/ranch upkeep such as fence repair.
