Position Summary
The Ranch Hand Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily ranch operations, supervising ranch hands, and ensuring the proper care of livestock, facilities, and agricultural production at Inner Peace & Happiness Ranch. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of livestock management, equipment operation, and property maintenance.
The supervisor ensures the ranch operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with agricultural, food safety, and animal welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ranch Operations Management
- Supervise daily ranch activities including feeding, watering, and monitoring livestock.
- Assign tasks to ranch hands and monitor completion.
- Maintain daily ranch operations schedule.
- Ensure ranch facilities, barns, fences, gates, and equipment are properly maintained.
Livestock & Animal Care
- Oversee care of cattle, goats, sheep, alpacas, poultry, and other animals.
- Monitor animal health and report illness or injury.
- Assist with milking operations and dairy sanitation procedures.
- Coordinate veterinary visits, vaccinations, and breeding programs.
Property & Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of tractors, tools, and ranch equipment.
- Maintain fencing, water systems, irrigation, and pasture rotation.
- Ensure proper storage of feed, hay, and supplies.
Agricultural Production
- Assist with garden, greenhouse, and orchard operations.
- Monitor crop health and irrigation.
- Oversee harvesting and handling of produce when needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure ranch staff follow safety procedures.
- Monitor sanitation standards for food production areas such as milk house and commercial kitchen.
- Maintain compliance with agricultural regulations and ranch SOPs.
Staff Supervision
- Train and supervise ranch hands and seasonal workers.
- Create daily task lists and schedules.
- Monitor staff performance and productivity.
Inventory & Supply Management
- Track feed, hay, equipment, and supply inventory.
- Assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working on a livestock ranch or farm
- Knowledge of cattle, poultry, goats, or mixed livestock operations
- Ability to operate tractors and ranch equipment
- Experience supervising employees or farm workers
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Dairy or raw milk handling experience
- Experience with fencing, irrigation, and pasture management
- Basic mechanical repair skills
- Knowledge of agricultural compliance or food safety practices

Compensation
Salary or hourly wage based on experience.
Typical Range in Texas:
$40,000 – $65,000 annually + possible housing

Additional Duties
