Progressive, growing, 550-cow registered and commercial ranch with 2 annual production sales in the Flint Hills of KS & located within easy driving distance of Manhattan, KS and KSU.
Innovative in our land and cattle management, we need someone to work in all facets of the operation. You need to be personable, have good communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to ID what needs to be done and then do it. We AI/ET, practice low-stress handling, calve heifers, use horses some (not required), produce hay & forage, develop bulls, sometimes finish cattle, and always strive to do better today than we did yesterday.
You will be caring for cattle daily, including checking, feeding, rotating pastures, calving, working cows & calves, doctoring, fencing, operating tractors, skid steers, feed wagons, light mechanical, etc. Customer interaction necessary. We’re willing to fully delegate responsibilities dependent on your interests & skill-set.
We are respectful of Sundays, family, etc., but certain times of the year require long hours. You will never be asked to do jobs we’re not willing to do, nor work hours we’re not willing to work. You will work independently some of the time and as part of a team other times. While experience is required, the willingness to learn & improve is paramount. Continuing education opportunities supported and encouraged.

Salary: DOE, but includes housing, utilities, beef, single health & life insurance, vehicle, etc.
Recently remodeled house is part of the compensation with large kitchen, hardwood floors, wood-burning fireplace, A/C, 3 bedrooms, & 1.5 baths.
