City Girl Ranch
Not strictly a riding job. There are 11 horses to care for and some riding for this job. Cattle and livestock need to be managed. This is a small private ranch and you would be working independently and at times along side others. There is a lot of ranch maintenance like any ranch. Work is generally 5 days a week and 8-9 hours a day. Emergencies do occur and you would have to help.
Required Skills:
- Operate tractor and skid steer
- Maintain equipment
- Change a tire. Change oil
- Welding small fixes and such
- Fence mending
- Animal shelter repair/building
- Handling Cattle. Moving them, tagging, doctoring
- Horse care
- Trail riding and moving cattle
- Riding to keep horses legged up
- Trailer towing and excellent driving
- Keep tools in order
Qualities required:
- Work well with others
- Take responsibility for the ranch.
- Treat animals kindly
- Tolerate lots of dogs
- Communicate well
- And of course honesty and reliability
