Managerial / hands on role for our 3,000 acre ranch. Working directly with owners to execute overall management of property and wildlife management. Position requires heavy lifting, operating and light maintenance on ranch equipment, skid steer, tractors etc. Must be able to work independently and anticipate needs. The current manager will stay on to train as long as necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete oversight of ranch, properly maintaining residences, grounds pastures, equipment and animals.
  • Act as point of contact for owners, providing regular updates on all activity on property.
  • Responsible for all ground maintenance, including residences, landscape, hard scape, irrigation, buildings, barn, roads gates, and fencing.
  • Assist family as needed for overall care and feeding of the cattle and other animals.
  • Schedule and manage contractors/vendors when needed
  • Working knowledge of all household systems, and ability to do light repairs as needed.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment.
  • Responsible for protecting property in extreme weather conditions.
  • Be available for emergency calls.

WILDLIFE / HUNTING

  • We are on the TPW MLD program.
  • Maintain and fill corn/protein feeders and monitor heard health annually.
  • Assist in record keeping.
  • Guide family guests when necessary.
  • Predator control for coyotes, snakes, and hogs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 to 10 years experience managing ranches of equivalent size.
  • Experience and interest in whitetail management.
  • Safely operate all heavy equipment, including tractor, skid steer, truck, power and hand-tools, light, welding, fence building and road maintenance.
  • Be able to work outdoors year around in extreme weather.
  • Heavy lifting 50 pounds or more
  • Maintain ranch infrastructures, such as ponds, roads, corrals, water system, housing, deer blinds and buildings, including repair and maintenance.
  • Lawn mowing, brush cutting, weed eating, clean ranch equipment and vehicles.
  • Must be trustworthy, self motivated, enable to work independently.
  • Willing to undergo and pass a background check and drug screen

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • Starting: $50,000k+ per year, paid hourly.
  • Housing possibly available in near future.
  • Work week: Monday through Friday. Except during deer season some weekends involved.
