Blotter Ranch
We have a 700 cow cattle ranch. We feed hay in the winter, calve in march and summer up in the mountains. The winter and main ranch is located in Paris Idaho. The summer ranch is located in Slug Creek Idaho about 1 hr away.
We need a person that can run and manage this ranch. We need this person to be able to hire and work with another full time employee and hire and work with day help as needed. We need someone with experience running a ranch that can plan and organize and be prepared for upcoming events. There is proper feeding, health monitoring, buying and selling cattle, fixing fence and putting up hay.
This person needs to see what needs to be done and figure out how to do it. The ranch is in a state where a lot of fence and corrals need major repair and updating. We DON’T expect this person to do all the work but we need this person to work with and help get the additional hired help needed to get the work done. We realize time off is important and will not over work you. At the same time, we need someone with energy and a strong work effort with enthusiasm to improve the overall ranch.
We are looking for much more of a partner than an employee. This person will have a very close working relationship with me and we will talk every few days by phone and I will likely be at the ranch weekly. I will be a major labor contributor and will consult on ideas but I will not manage or run the ranch. We have a brand new home going on the ranch right now.
LDS background is very strongly preferred. Friendly clean work environment. Pay is negotiable and additional compensation in terms of cattle ownership participation is available. Also land acquisition for long term relationships is available. For example, given a long term relationship, property for retirement could be given. We want to have a very strong, friendly, positive long term relationship.
