We are seeking a ranch manager for a 300 acre exotic ranch in Cherokee, Texas. We have a family ranch with Eland, Oryx, and whitetail deer. We also have 5 pygmy goats and 20+ chickens for our personal egg production. We live in Austin and aren’t able to drive out to care for the ranch on a daily basis. This position will involve being at the ranch 5-6 days a week/8 hours a day, generally M-F, and sometimes Saturday or a Sunday if necessary.

While we’ve been using the ranch for personal use, we’d like to try and grow the business side. This would include monitoring our exotic and whitetail deer populations, doing guided hunts, and finding clients for capture. Therefore, we need someone who has experience managing and exotic or whitetail deer business. We’d like someone who is a go getter and will be motivated by financial incentives for doing guided hunts etc.

We have multiple structures on the ranch. A main 3 bedroom ranch house, a barndominum that includes an apartment, and a bunkhouse. This person will be responsible for maintaining the properties and landscaping/managing help.

Our current ranch manager is leaving to work closer to where they live. Our ranch is close to both Llano and Cherokee. Therefore, we are only looking to hire someone who lives in Llano, Texas or Cherokee, Texas or an area no more than 30 minutes away/wants to relocate.
