We are searching to hire an experienced, skilled, and knowledgeable cattleman to oversee various aspects of our cattle and horse production. The ranch manager will be responsible for day to day operations with guidance of the owner.
AJ Cattle is a family-owned and operated Yearling operation in Peetz, CO and Cow/Calf operation in Miles City, MT. Some travel will be expected during seasons such as branding and shipping.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring water sources
- General maintenance of feed equipment
- General construction knowledge
- Maintaining and repairing fencing
- Ability to rope and doctor cattle (or willingness to learn to rope)
- Horse Back Daily to observe the general condition of cattle and provide appropriate care as far as: detecting illnesses, injuries, weight fluctuation, or loss in herds.
- MUST be capable of starting and training young horses.
The successful cattleman/ranch manager will be based in Peetz, CO or willing to relocate to provided housing. Compensation will be based on experience and determined following an interview.
