Family-owned ranch seeking a dedicated and experienced Ranch Manager to live onsite and oversee all aspects of our ranch operations. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for the care and management of our cattle, as well as other typical ranch duties. The ranch manager does have a counterpart who oversees all aspects inside the family’s residential buildings and coordinates with the Ranch Manager. This position requires living on-site and entails both hands-on work and a few administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Livestock Management:
- Experienced cattleman necessary for a cow calf operation.
- Ensure the health and well-being of the cattle, heard management, coordinate with veterinarians as needed, manage grazing rotations.
2. Facility Maintenance:
- Oversee maintenance of ranch operational buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. Perform or coordinate repairs and upgrades, maintain cleanliness.
3. Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise ranch hands.
4. Land and Resource Management:
- Manage and participate in land improvement projects, such as fencing and irrigation system installation.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all personnel and livestock.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ranch management or a related field, and experience with a cow calf operation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage staff and resources.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced cattleman.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical and construction principles for facility maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends as needed.
