Our family-owned ranch is seeking to fill a Ranch Manager position. We are looking for a dependable person who can help maintain the property, take care of a large cattle and horse operation, and assist owner as-needed.

Our ranch is 5,800 acres, and you would be working directly with owners to execute the overall management of the property. Must be able to work independently and anticipate the needs of the property. Looking for someone who can communicate well, and relay needs as they surface.

Some of the responsibilities include upkeep of ranch facilities, feed pens, operation of tractors and other machinery, roadways, water troughs, chemical applications for brush control, and harvesting 1,000-1,200 bales of hay annually. Knowledge of prescribed burning a plus.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete oversight of the ranch, properly maintaining improvements, pastures, equipment, cattle, and horses.
  • Act as point of contact for owners, providing regular updates on all activity on the property – competent budgeting & planning.
  • Responsible for all buildings, roads, gates, and fencing.
  • Schedule and manage contractors/vendors when needed.
  • Working knowledge of all household systems, and ability to do light repairs as needed.
  • Operate and maintain equipment.
  • Maintenance of buildings and structures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ranch management & general ranch work experience required.
  • Must be trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Must provide a work history with personal and employer references with valid phone numbers.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test/background check.
  • Must be professional and hard-working.
  • Knowledge of game management. Planning food plots and working with Texas Parks & Wildlife on 3-4 deer/turkey surveys annually.
