Family-owned 1,600 acre Llano ranch is seeking a highly motivated full-time ranch manager that can meet the following requirements:
- Oversee and manage the maintenance and repair of the three homes on the property – including well water systems, plumbing, HVAC, lawn care, and sprinkler systems
- Manage the 90 head of Texas Longhorn cattle. Manage feeding and breeding programs. Administer vaccines, fly control, and de-wormer. Improve pastures via brush control and weed control. Penning, loading, and hauling cattle. Maintain water sources for cattle.
- Manage all aspects of predator and feral hog control
- Manage deer hunting: maintain blinds and feeders, fill feeders
- Manage vendors, temporary labor, and other personnel as needed
- Keep all equipment, trails, and grounds well maintained
- Work with the owners on a weekly basis and generate reports as needed
Requirements:
- Work directly with the owner on major management decisions
- Knowledge and experience of white-tail deer management and hunting
- Experience with handling, care, and feeding of cattle
- Knowledge and experience with the operation and maintenance of ranch equipment and vehicles (tractor, skid steer, ATVs, chainsaw, bulldozer)
- Physically capable of meeting all ranch work needs
- Bachelor degree in animal science or ranch management, or extensive field experience
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Good attitude and work ethic
- Willing and eager to learn
- Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Gmail, Google calendar)
