Ranch manager needed for family-owned ranch in Elgin, TX. We are looking for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who exemplifies honesty, focus, and diligent hard work. We prefer someone who is young and eager to put their cattle management skillset to the test, and learn more skills along the way. You will be the person-in-charge at the property, and there are real expectations for performance and growth.
We are in the early stages of ramping up our grass-fed cattle production, and are making significant capital investments in fertilization, irrigation, and infrastructure. We will substantially grow our Austin-area presence through the sales of our grass-fed ground beef – as the business grows, so will your earning potential.
What we are looking for in you:
– A desire to learn the ins-and-outs of business (sales, marketing, finance, operations).
– Can follow instructions, but also offers intelligent/reasonable solutions.
– Can keep track of tasks and projects in an organized fashion – sees them through to completion.
– Extreme attention to detail.
Experience (in order of importance to us):
– Ranch/herd management and operations.
– Pasture management (fencing, hay cutting, fertilizing, herd rotations).
– Fleet/diesel maintenance and upkeep
– Lawncare
– Welding
– Electrical
– Plumbing
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Daily oversight and maintenance of a 60+ herd of Brangus cattle.
– Regular maintenance of ranch vehicles, tractors, trucks, trailers.
– Summer grass cutting and trimming of lawns near main/guest homes.
– Hay cutting and fertilization.
– Misc property fixes (hose bibs, irrigation repair, well pump repair, etc).
Salary: $40,000/yr
