Looking for a hands on ranch management couple / team, full time, at 1,200 acre foothill ranch in Calaveras County, California. Previous ranch management experience, with cattle / agricultural background, hospitality skills, and good mechanical knowledge required.

Work scope includes year round care of, exercise and training for 6 horses, care of small herd of cattle, up-keep of homes, grounds, pool, ponds, shops, barns, roads, fences, firewood, stock water systems, flood irrigation, management of timber stand improvement and harvest, machinery maintenance and repair, caretaking and purchasing of all ranch supplies. Ability to perform light electrical, plumbing and carpentry and operate ranch equipment required.

Management and communication skills (in person and long distance) are important to owners. Housekeeping and maintenance of owner’s house, guest house and guest cottage will be the responsibility of the Ranch Manager while owners and guests are in residence and when away from ranch. Ranch Manager must be willing to support owner’s use of property when owner and guests are in residence, including assistance with guest and meal services, and assistance to owner and guests with horse riding and instruction as/when needed.

Ranch Manager will schedule and direct special projects as needed. Must have valid driver’s licenses, clean driving records, no criminal record or outstanding warrants, be nonsmokers and drug free. Housing provided on property (comfortable 4br, 3ba house in good condition), with utilities covered, truck for use on ranch business, salary and benefits.
