Managing micro-ranch of about 70 Texas Longhorn. Moving cattle on horseback or 4 wheeler when needed. Roping would be a bonus.
The purpose of the ranch is to raise grass fed beef to sell and raise Texas Longhorn for shows and produce continual better gene lines to sell for show to other Longhorn owners. Need to have experience in breaking calves for either show, sell or lean beef program.
Internet skills are needed to manage website and deal with customers and create new markets for beef sales.
Of course, outside work includes daily feeding , fence repair or building, branding/banding/tagging and usual maintenance ranch duties. Farmers market in the summer. You will have your own office in our new facility.
Housing is supplied. You can bring your own horse and dog if needed. Salary plus bonus on sales.
Years of experience preferred: 3 yrs
