Position Summary
As Ranch Manager you will be responsible for all activities on a 20,000-acre (deeded and leased) mountain ranch and perform all duties according to the landowner’s goals for the property.
Guest services for a private family and guests will be a priority requiring effective oral and written communication skills. This responsibility will include project management skills and oversight of infrastructure maintenance including the upkeep of homes, barns, outbuildings, vehicles, equipment, and an aesthetic landscape.
The Ranch Manager will supervise an 8-person full-time staff, including a Livestock Manager, and oversee a 500-head cattle and haying operation.
The Ranch Manager should have a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscape, and fencing skills. This position is a hands-on job and at times requires the directing of seasonal employees, vendors, and contractors as needed.
Candidates should be self-motivated and possess the ability to prioritize and make decisions based on common sense and practical experience. Guest service skills are a priority for this private ranch setting. Horsemanship skills would be a plus but not necessary.
