General Ranch Information:
1. Full-time Live-in Ranch Manager – Mostly a one person operation with part time contract help
2. 573 Acre ranch northwest of Georgetown, TX
3. Herd health and maintenance of buildings and grounds are primary duties
4. Mixed breed commercial +150 head

Ranch Manager’s Job Description:
1. Maintain herd health and accurate herd and calving data. Rotate cattle between pastures
2. Must be motivated, willing and able to maintain grounds around houses, barns and stables in pristine order year round
3. Run and maintain heavy and light machinery such as;
  a. John Deere tractors and equipment
  b. D-4 Dozer, Backhoe and Skid Steer
c. Mowers, tillers, chainsaws and other small lawn and garden equipment
4. Field management; Plow, Plant, Irrigate, Fertilize, Weed and keep new mesquite sprouts killed
5. Fields are planted spring & fall. Grazed as cattle are rotated. All other feed purchased
6. General ranch day-to-day work;
  a. Keep fences & gates in good repair; Barbed, Electric, Stone, Stone Columns and Pipe
  b. Brush control plus removal and/or processing of downed trees for firewood
c. Must possess mechanical ability to maintain equipment & handle minor repairs
d. Small engine repair capability is a positive talent to possess and/or want to learn

Proficiencies Required:
1. Basic Computer Skills; Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Email
2. Light Welding
3. Basic Masonry and Carpentry
4. Skilled in Artificial Insemination; Helpful but not required. Proficiency will be taught.

Compensation Package:
1. Depends on candidate’s expertise and experience.
2. Provided as part of compensation; Modern 1600 SF three bedroom, 2 ½ bathroom house
3. All third party house services and expenses provided free to manager
4. Ranch vehicles & trailers provided

Other Considerations:
1. Position available first quarter of 2019 in conjunction with current manager’s retirement
2. Single or family with/without children. Limited pets and horses accepted
3. Position should be considered a long term opportunity to enjoy a ranching lifestyle
4. Hard worker required. Pay attention to detail to improve herd profitability and operations
5. Bring valid operational and profitability improvement ideas to ranch operations
