Private Ranch
We are looking for an experienced hands-on Ranch Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and up-keep of a private ranch located in Orange County near San Juan Capistrano, CA. This position is meant for a person or couple/family who live in the vicinity of San Juan Capistrano, however for the right candidate(s) there could be a possibility of living on the property.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform basic animal care especially for ranch dogs
- Inventory and organize tools, equipment, and building materials
- Upkeep and maintenance of recreational areas and equipment
- Check gates and access points routinely to ensure security
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of grounds and structures
- Clear roads maintained throughout the ranch, perform landscaping and any repairs as needed to roads and infrastructure
- Vendor access coordination for services such as water, waste, telecom, gas, electrical, and other services on the property
- Maintain existing landscape and irrigation systems on property and for structures
- Develop weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual facilities maintenance plans and protocols
- Other ranch duties as necessary, dependent on season and desired by owner
- Communicate with ownership via text, email, and phone calls on a regular basis
- On call for emergencies
- Weekend hours required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing a ranch without much oversight from ownership
- General knowledge of ranch and maintenance equipment
- Ability to work in a variety of environments such as heat, rain, cold
- Ability to perform physical labor; ability to pick up and move heavy objects
- Comfortable working on ladders and ability to stand for long periods of time outdoors
- Reliable transportation and a positive attitude
- Flexibility for changing tasks and assignments
- Organizational skills, to see projects through to completion
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Drivers license must be valid with a clean driving record
- Military or law enforcement experience a plus
Schedule:
Weekday, Weekend availability and on call availability as needed by owner
Ability to commute/relocate:
San Juan Capistrano, CA: Ability to commute with a utility vehicle that can drive on dirt roads (Preferred)
Experience:
Ranch hand/manager: 5 years of Handyman, Experience with agriculture equipment and/or Animal Care (Required)

Salary: $65,000 per year
