Position: Ranch Manager or Dedicated Couple
Location: Southwestern Montana, near Yellowstone National Park
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Ranch Manager or dedicated Couple to oversee the daily operations of a private mountain ranch. This unique property features horseback riding in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, and various recreational activities including fishing in over a mile of river, ponds, and creeks. The Ranch Manager will be comfortable in a Remote area of Deep into Montana Wilderness year-round and responsible for managing the ranch’s seasonal staff, ensuring the maintenance of facilities, and providing exceptional experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee all aspects of ranch operations, including maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff during all activities.
- Develop and implement seasonal programs and activities for guests, including horseback riding, fishing, and snowmobiling.
- Manage and protect habitats for wildlife and fish populations for the property, ensuring conservation efforts are effective.
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise a seasonal team of 2-3 staff members.
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure staff are equipped to provide excellent service to guests.
- Guest Services:
- Provide exceptional hospitality to guests, ensuring their needs are met and experiences are memorable.
- Coordinate and lead guided activities, including horseback riding and fishing excursions.
- Maintenance and Upkeep:
- Oversee the maintenance of cabins, common areas, and outdoor facilities.
- Manage inventory and supplies for ranch operations, including equipment and recreational gear.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for ranch operations.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective management of resources.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ranch management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Experience in outdoor recreational activities, particularly horseback riding and fishing.
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair of ranch facilities and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Prior work experience in similar ranch facilities (6-7 buildings) with 100+ acres.
- Honest, reliable, and drug-free.
