Night Sky Ranch is a family-owned ranch seeking an experienced, self-motivated Ranch Manager/Wrangler to oversee the daily operation of our ranch and lead all aspects of our equine program. This is an opportunity for a true horseman or horsewoman who is passionate about developing quality horses, maintaining a first-class facility, and taking ownership of ranch operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of hands-on equine experience, is confident starting, breaking, and training horses, and possesses the leadership skills to manage daily ranch activities with minimal supervision. We’re looking for someone who values horsemanship, safety, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Start, break, and train young horses using safe, proven horsemanship techniques
  • Exercise, condition, and evaluate horses at various stages of training
  • Develop individualized training plans based on each horse’s needs
  • Oversee the daily care and health of all horses, including feeding, turnout, grooming, and coordinating veterinary and farrier appointments
  • Supervise daily ranch operations and ensure the property is maintained to a high standard
  • Operate and maintain tractors, UTVs, trailers, and other ranch equipment
  • Repair and maintain fencing, barns, arenas, and other ranch facilities
  • Maintain accurate records for horse training, health, and ranch maintenance
  • Lead by example while fostering a safe, productive, and professional work environment

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of professional equine experience
  • Military Experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience breaking, starting, and training horses
  • Strong understanding of horse behavior, health, nutrition, and conditioning
  • Experience managing or supervising ranch operations preferred
  • Ability to safely operate ranch equipment and perform general maintenance
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Requirements:

  • I-9 Verification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Subject to background check and drug testing

Compensation:

  • Salary: $60,000 – $70,000
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision. 10 days PTO. 4 days paid Sick.
