About the Position
The 1911 Land and Cattle Company is seeking a hardworking Ranch Operations Intern for a 3-month summer position offering hands-on experience in a regenerative-focused ranching operation. This role is designed for individuals pursuing Animal Science, Wildlife and Range Management, or other agricultural-related fields who want real-world exposure to cattle operations and land stewardship.
Most days will be spent in the field. You will be working in Texas summer conditions and gain practical exposure to livestock grazing operations, wildlife habitat management, and land stewardship.
The 1911 Land and Cattle Company operates on two core focus areas. The first is a pasture-to-plate beef production model that begins with a cow-calf operation and extends through yearling/stocker grazing, replacement heifer development, and the finishing of steers. This system is supported by strategic grazing management practices, including rotational grazing, designed to improve land health and livestock productivity.
The second focus is wildlife management, emphasizing both native and exotic species. This includes white-tailed deer, multiple exotic ungulates, waterfowl, and upland game birds, managed through a variety of techniques to support balanced and sustainable populations.

- Participate in wildlife surveys
- Maintain fence lines and water gaps
