We’re seeking Christian retired or empty-nest couple (no children) to oversee 200 acre ranch in Grand Saline. Prefer a couple where one spouse would be on property most of the time. (We do have a large workshop if one is self-employed.) Cattle/horse experience preferred but not required to check on cows & horses – no difficult work. Any ranch “work” (including mowing & cleaning houses) would be contracted out.
A lovely 3BR house is provided in exchange for light responsibilities: greet guests, show guests the ropes if unfamiliar with the property, check on & report any issues in the property houses, boats, etc. to owner, inventory supply needs, check houses after guests leave, etc. – mostly there for a presence on the property.
Should couple own cattle & wish to utilize pasture land, this can be a point of discussion. How much Rent is lowered/eliminated depends on how much responsibility is taken on. If couple comes with particular ranch skills (ie. Carpentry, landscaping, etc.), payment beyond waived rent could be discussed on an as needed basis.
The job is not complicated, but it would require someone HONEST with solid MORAL CHARACTER backed up with strong REFERENCES.
