About the position:
Looking for a Buildings and Grounds Manager to oversee the care and maintenance of a 30,000 acre ranch in Central Florida, including all buildings, homes, grounds, roads, fences, ponds and other water systems.

The right candidate for this position will possess the ability to complete all daily tasks proficiently without regular supervision, have a strong understanding of all the aspects of a well-run ranch along with a can-do attitude.

Will provide housing on property, vehicle for use on ranch, competitive salary & benefits.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with maintaining the appearance and functionality of homes, yards, fences & roads
  • Be able to make repairs as needed or hire and supervise contractors as needed for larger projects
  • Ability to hire and manage people effectively
  • Experience with construction equipment (backhoes, tractors, dozers, etc.) how to operate and the regular maintenance required
  • Strong managerial & organizational skills required to receive bids and manage people, as well as projects
  • Hospitality, communication and people skills required
  • Ability to assist in preparation of property for family & guests arrival
  • Previous ranch management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of agriculture, water wells/systems (pumps) and cattle a plus


  • Oversee bidding & construction of various ranch projects (sheds, barns, homes) to include fencing, roads, building sheds, storage buildings and homes
  • Manage major ranch purchases and oversee maintenance of heavy equipment, vehicles, tractors
  • Operate and perform basic repairs on farm equipment
  • General knowledge and maintenance of common utilities (water, gas, electric)
  • Repair roads, fences, utilities, water wells, drainage systems
  • General up-keep of several homes, grounds, ponds, barns, roads, fences, irrigation. Both private & employee residences as well as the grounds around these
  • Ability to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and operate ranch equipment required
  • Assist with B&G staff management, hiring and recruiting
  • Knowledge landscape maintenance to include pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, controlled burning


  • General ranch knowledge/experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform strenuous outdoor tasks related to ranch maintenance
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexibility to provide coverage on weekends and/or evenings as needed
  • Willingness to do what it takes to perform emergency repairs when needed
  • Must have valid driver’s license, no criminal record or outstanding warrants, non-smoker & drug free
