Seeking a Ranch Supervisor in Alder, MT!  We would love to find someone living in Montana, Idaho, or Wyoming for this role.

Looking to hire a Property Supervisor/Caretaker (not a Manager role) in Alder, MT on a fishing property that has no livestock.  A cat or dog are welcome, no horses unfortunately.  

A short list of the main duties for this role include:

  • Ensuring all properties and associated improvements are maintained to a high standard, meeting the expectations of both the Ranch Manager and property owner.
  • Identifying, addressing, and reporting maintenance issues to the Ranch Manager, promptly and effectively.
  • Sourcing, scheduling, and overseeing professional maintenance and repair services as needed.  *experience with construction in this role is preferred
  • Preserving and enhancing the aesthetic quality of the property through proactive care and attention to detail.
  • Conducting year-round monitoring of the property to ensure security, privacy, and operational integrity.
  • Maintaining buildings and surrounding areas, including HVAC systems, water wells, electrical infrastructure, pest and weed control, range and crop improvements, fire mitigation, and fisheries enhancement.
  • Overseeing all property construction and development activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Supervising access to the property and facilities by contractors, workers, and vendors.
  • Coordinating with the Office Manager to ensure all contractors and vendors complete required security checks.
  • Communicating all expenses and invoices to the Office Manager in a timely and accurate manner
  • Mowing and maintaining all yards, trails, and roadside areas to ensure a clean and visually appealing environment.
  • Implementing fire hazard mitigation strategies, including mowing, brush removal, tree trimming, and planned grazing.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and improving fencing and livestock infrastructure across the property.
  • Safeguarding sensitive rangeland and riparian zones from overgrazing and environmental degradation.
  • Complying with all property use agreements, including conservation easements, restoration plans, and owner directives.
  • Managing irrigation activities to maximize forage production and water efficiency.
  • Operating flood irrigation systems across approximately 200 acres of upper property.
  • Operating and managing flood, handline, side-roll, and pivot irrigation systems across approximately 300 acres of lower property.
  • Maintaining, developing, and enhancing all irrigation infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Utilizing irrigation water rights efficiently and responsibly, in accordance with regulatory and environmental standards.

Live on-site in the rental provided down the road from the Ranch for a salary of $60k plus full benefits (health, dental, vision) after 90 days, PTO and holidays paid.
