The Adventure

Spend your 2026 summer on the outskirts of Denali National Park at DogGoneIt, an award-winning sled dog kennel. We welcome thousands of guests to our home to share the reality of life in Alaskan, the dedication required to raise elite athletes, and the heart-pounding spirit of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race.

We are looking for a small, dedicated team to help us present our life with sled dogs to visitors from around the globe.

The Role

Your primary duty is to ensure our dogs are expertly cared for and our guests have a safe, world-class experience.

  • Canine Care: Responsible for feeding, cleaning, and caring for our dogs.
  • Guest Experience: You will work between 2 and 4 tours a day. This includes visiting with guests, assisting with presentations about mushing and the Iditarod, and maintaining a clean, welcoming retail environment.
  • The Lifestyle: The days are long, but the rewards are unmatched. You’ll be part of a tight-knit staff of 3–4 guides living and working in the heart of the Alaska Range.

Ideal Candidate

We need “people-people” who have a passion for animals and a strong work ethic.

  • A Cheerful, Outgoing Personality: You’ll be the face of our kennel.
  • Excellent Communication: You should be comfortable speaking to guests.
  • Professional: You expect the best of yourself in appearance, lifestyle, and work ethic.
  • A Positive Attitude: You can keep a smile on your face even during a busy, rainy Alaskan afternoon.
  • Reliability: You are always on time and ready to work and you are committed to the full season from the first thaw to the fall colors.

Perks & Living

  • Housing Provided: On-site housing is available (no pets allowed).
  • The Denali Backyard: You’ll have front-door access to world-class hiking, the Denali Highway, and the Jack River.
  • Industry Perks: Enjoy “reciprocal” tours (rafting, flightseeing, ziplining, etc.) at the park entrance for free or at a steep employee discount.
  • End of season bonus: We offer bonus opportunities for staff who successfully complete the full season through September 20th.

Requirements

  • Full Season Commitment: April 30, 2026 – September 20, 2026.
  • Driver’s License: Required.
  • Physicality: Ability to work outdoors and handle active sled dogs.
