The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is a private membership experience set on 18,000 extraordinary acres in the state of Montana. Take one part working ranch, combine with golf, lodging, great food, and drink plus everything else there is to see and do and you’ve got something beyond special.
Summer Season starts in early May and goes through end of October/early November.

Position Summary:
At Crazy Mountain Ranch, the Seasonal Ranch Hand is a hands-on, seasonal role supporting daily ranch operations, livestock care, land stewardship, and agricultural management. This position works closely with experienced ranch staff to carry out essential operational tasks while upholding sustainable western agricultural practices and the high standards of a premier private property. Set in a remote and beautiful Montana landscape, this role offers meaningful, physically engaging work and the opportunity to contribute directly to the success and care of the ranch throughout the summer season.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist with livestock management, including calving, feeding, monitoring animal health, supporting nutrition plans, and participating in pasture rotation.
- Support general ranch and facilities maintenance through fencing, irrigation setup and monitoring, mowing, and weed control.
- Safely operate and assist with the maintenance of ranch equipment such as tractors, skid steers, backhoes, trucks, and trailers.
- Represent Crazy Mountain Ranch with professionalism, maintaining a strong commitment to safety, ethical conduct, and high service standards.
- Collaborate with ranch team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a positive working environment.

- Participate in and contribute to the daily tasks outlined in the agricultural internship plan.
- Gain hands-on experience in ranch operations, land management, and livestock handling.
- Maintain attention to detail in all assigned duties, ensuring accuracy, organization, and care.
- Learn and apply safe equipment operation practices, including regular inspections and reporting maintenance needs.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members, ask questions and seek guidance when needed.
- Follow all ranch policies, safety procedures, biosecurity protocols, and equipment guidelines.
- Adapt to changing responsibilities, weather conditions, and operational needs throughout the season.
- Must Be Able To Ride Horses Efficiently
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with special projects related to land, livestock, or facility improvements as assigned.
- Support a clean, safe, and organized working environment across all ranch areas.
- Demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic outdoor environment.
- Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by livestock and field conditions.
- Represent Crazy Mountain Ranch positively in all interactions with team members, vendors, and visitors.

Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Prior experience working on a ranch, farm, or in an agricultural setting; hands-on livestock experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to ride a horse confidently and efficiently as part of daily work activities.
- Comfortable working long days outdoors in varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.
- Physically capable of performing demanding manual labor, including lifting, bending, and prolonged periods on foot or horseback.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with ranch leadership and staff.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.
- Respect for land stewardship, livestock welfare, and safe equipment and animal handling practices.
