Family-owned and operated ranch near Clayton, New Mexico is seeking a long-term employee. We are a 500-head cow/calf operation with a feedyard where we feed our own calves, purchased calves, and operate a preconditioning program for clients. We also farm our personal circles as well as run a custom farming/haying business.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying and doctoring sick cattle
- Mixing and feeding a ration
- Processing calves
- Helping with branding and weaning
- Tagging calves
- Fence repair
- Moving cattle on horseback and/or UTV
- Planting, disking, swathing, baling, and raking
- Equipment maintenance
- Pivot maintenance
- Electric fence construction and maintenance
Must be able to show up on time ready to work. Must be self-motivated, honest, and willing to take direction. Ability to communicate is key. This is not an absentee owner situation. Will be working alongside owner. Welding experience is a plus.
- Pay dependent on experience, plus beef
- Ranch vehicle to use for work
- On-site housing available if needed
- Immediate start
This is not a cowboy position, it is mainly a feedlot/farm position.
