Senior Barn Manager / Livestock Manager

Private Farm Estate | Franklin, Tennessee

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 DOE

About Us

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Barn Manager to join our private farm estate in Franklin, Tennessee.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who genuinely loves animals, takes pride in immaculate facilities, and notices problems before they become emergencies.

This is a quality-over-quantity operation. We are not looking for someone to simply complete chores—we are looking for someone who takes ownership, notices details, and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of every animal.

Animal welfare is our highest priority.

We are looking for a calm, experienced professional who treats every animal as if it were their own.

Animals

Our farm includes:

  • Horses
  • Donkeys
  • Mini horses
  • Mini Highland cattle
  • Sheep
  • Livestock Guardian Dogs

Responsibilities

  • Daily feeding and watering
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing of all animals
  • Recognize early signs of illness, injury or distress
  • Administer medications and basic treatments as directed
  • Coordinate veterinarian and farrier visits
  • Clean stalls, barns and feeding areas to a very high standard
  • Groom and handle horses safely and confidently
  • Rotate pastures and monitor fencing
  • Operate tractors, UTVs and farm equipment safely
  • Maintain feed inventory and keep barns organized
  • Perform daily property inspections
  • Report maintenance issues immediately
  • Assist with training and supervising additional ranch staff
  • Help maintain an exceptionally clean, organized and professional farm

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years professional horse experience
  • Experience caring for multiple horses every day
  • Confident handling horses independently
  • Experience with livestock preferred
  • Able to identify health issues before they become emergencies
  • Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
  • Excellent references
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a background check, employment verification, and reference checks.

What We’re Looking For

We value attitude and character just as much as experience.

The right candidate naturally notices things such as:

  • A horse that’s eating less than usual
  • A loose fence board before it breaks
  • A water trough running low
  • A slight limp before it becomes serious
  • A gate left unlatched

If you’re someone who takes pride in caring for animals, maintaining an exceptional property, and wants to become part of a long-term team where your work is genuinely appreciated, we’d love to hear from you.

To Apply

Please send:

  • Your resume
  • A brief cover letter explaining why you’re interested in this position
  • Three professional references

Please describe your horse and livestock experience, the types of animals you’ve cared for, equipment you’ve operated, and why you’re interested in this long-term position.
