Job Title – SR. Wildlife Technician/Hunting Guide
Employment Type – Full Time
Job Location – Eustace, TX (1 hr from Dallas, in East Texas)
Salary Range – $35K to $40K DOE + Gratuity

Position Summary: Lead hunting expeditions with a strong foundation in wildlife management and exotic species knowledge, while prioritizing the safety and well-being of clients. Manage and monitor game populations within a high fence operation, including species behavior, genetics, habitat, and herd health. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and preferences. Inspect and maintain hunting/ranch equipment to guarantee their functionality.

Objectives
Wildlife Management (Primary Focus):
- Implement and oversee wildlife management practices for exotic and native species within a high fence operation
- Monitor and record wildlife populations, genetics, behavior, and health across multiple species
- Manage herd composition, culling, and breeding decisions to support long-term herd quality and conservation goals
- Oversee predator management and habitat/food plot maintenance to support wildlife health
- Maintain 0% wildlife death loss due to negligence
- Apply working knowledge of exotic species care, nutrition, and handling distinct from native whitetail management
Guiding and Outfitting:
- Lead hunting and fishing expeditions in a high fence environment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for clients
- Provide expert guidance on hunting techniques specific to exotic and native species, as well as local wildlife behavior
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of firearms and fishing equipment
- Maintain an impeccable safety record by adhering to all hunting regulations and firearm safety practices
Ranch Maintenance:
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the ranch, including maintaining facilities and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery such as tractors, UTVs, and other ranch equipment
- Manage and care for livestock and exotic herds, ensuring their well-being
- Oversee the upkeep of trails, hunting blinds, and fishing areas to enhance the overall experience for clients
Client Education:
- Educate clients on the importance of ethical hunting practices and the ranch’s wildlife management approach
- Share knowledge about exotic species, local flora and fauna, fostering an appreciation for the environment
- Provide safety briefings and instructions on the proper use of equipment
Equipment and Gear Management:
- Maintain optimal condition of all hunting equipment, firearms, and gear
- Manage an inventory of equipment, coordinating repairs and replacements as needed
Communication and Hospitality:
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by providing a safe and successful hunting experience
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring client satisfaction • Maintain high success rates during the hunts
- Provide clear instructions during activities and maintain open lines of communication with the team
- Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct, including respect for wildlife, respect for team members, and of course clients
- Support non-hunting events as needed, including corporate retreats, weddings, and family retreats, ensuring the same standard of hospitality and safety extended to hunting clients
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with fellow guides, ranch hands, and support staff to create a cohesive and efficient team environment
- Foster a positive and united team environment through collaboration with fellow guides and support staff
Regulatory Compliance:
- Strong knowledge of high fence hunting regulations and exotic species management practices
- Strong knowledge of the market and industry trends
- Continuously improve wildlife management and hunting skills, and stay updated on changes in regulations and conservation practices
- Educate clients about legal requirements and promote responsible outdoor recreation
Continuous Improvement:
- Pursue ongoing training and education to enhance wildlife management and guiding skills
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the quality of services provided
Passion for the Outdoors:
- Maintain a deep passion for hunting, wildlife, and exotic species management, fostering a genuine connection with the natural environment
- Instill this passion in clients to create memorable and meaningful outdoor experiences

Education & Experience
- Minimum of 4-6 years guiding experience
- Required: hands-on wildlife management experience with exotic species in a high fence setting
- A college degree is preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements: Specific physical requirements can vary depending on the type of hunting. Good eyesight, hearing, and capable to deal with physical discomfort at times are expected. Stamina should be capable of leading/keeping up with clients for the duration of the hunt.
