JDB Ranch
Ranch hand needed.
We are a 24,000 acre ranch that is company owned and is used for its employees hunting and recreation use. We are not a commercial hunting ranch. We work cattle twice a year.
Work duties will include gate help, vaccinating, worming and castration of cattle. Filling cotton seed and deer feeders. Keeping barns, blinds, hunting vehicles, feeders and water troughs clean. Lifting 250 lb. Deer and possibly pulling through brush for several yards. Helping fill guests needs. Guiding some hunters. Welding and fence repair. Running equipment, tractor, motor grader etc. and the maintenance of them and all other ranch vehicles.
Not all duties are expected knowledge to start but will be learned while on the job.
From November to February is a 7 day a week job, with long days. The rest of the year is a normal work week. Summers are very hot. Holidays are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Labor Day. We work the days before and after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Salary: $40,000-$50,000, house and utilities, 401K with 6% match, vacation, BCBS insurance, yearly raise opportunities.
