Avalanche Outfitters in Redstone, CO is seeking a full time seasonal wrangler/guide for the summer and fall of 2017. Job Duties:
– wrangling and guiding of rides on both the ranch and back country – Basic ranch chores (irrigating, cleaning corrals, saddling horses and mules, fixing fence)
– Possibly cooking for pack trips and hunting trips
– Heavy lifting of saddles, camp gear and panniers
– Leading horses/mules on rough terrain
– Having great customer service, phone skills, and a friendly attitude
Qualifications:
– 18 or older to be able to guide alone
– CPR/FIRST AID preferred (will pay for classes if needed)
– Western Horse experience preferred
– Hunting Experience a bonus
– Self motivated, willing to work
– Able to follow directions and hard working
– Able to drive a manual transmission truck and trailer up steep rough roads Redstone is a small mountain town in Colorado.
There is no cell service anywhere, very little housing so a reliable vehicle is a must. This is not a 9-5 job we begin work at 7am on average and finish when chores are done, during hunting season days may start at 3:30AM and end after midnight. Other part time employment opportunities are available in Redstone to help with more income. Will work with an employee if they want other work to supplement their income.
